Dumas B. Laster photograph collection. [ca. 1880-1960]

This collection contains five photos apparently collected by a Boulder barber named Laster. Envelope #1 holds a portrait of an older woman ca. 1880s. Envelope #2 contains snapshots of 3 men with large fish; one of these, showing the 165 lb. blue marlin that Jack Cys caught in 1954, is inscribed "to Laster/ as big as your stories/ Sincerely/ Jack Cys." D. Clements is shown with the 143 lb. marlin he had caught on 8 June 1953. Perhaps the man in the 3rd fisherman photo is Laster himself. Envelope #3 contains an 8 x 9" glossy portrait of Louis Armstrong holding his trumpet, and is inscribed "To Lass/ and all of the other cats at the shop/ Louis Satchmo Armstrong."

5 photographs, in three envelopes in one folder.
